Ruby May is a British, Berlin-based edge-dwelling creative visionary and workshop facilitator, whose international workshops and rituals weave together her belief that play is not a luxury but a necessity in life and her passion for creating spaces of permission and possibility where we get to let go of our conditioning and experience ourselves ‘beyond the imagination!’ She is inspired by all gateways to expansion including sexual practices such as Tantra, BDSM and Ecosexuality, shadow healing, transpersonal psychology, ritual, shamanism, working with the circle and plant wisdom.
Ruby has a degree in psychology, is a trained Sexological bodyworker and in the past decade has worked as an erotic massage artist, intimacy coach, Tantric domina, sex educator, workshop facilitator and is co-founder of the Sacred Kink Academy. For the past two years she has been studying spiritual ecology and plant wisdom, learning primarily through ceremonial cacao.
She loves fairytales, circles and communing with plants and dislikes being still for too long, squares and writing bios.
Conscious Kink
Conscious Kink is the art of exploring the full spectrum of our sexuality, especially the frequently more taboo or hidden aspects, in a fully awake, embodied and connected way. Diving into the realms of consensual power play through the lens of Conscious Kink gives us access to a world of rich opportunities for play, intimacy and transformation, also offering insights into our relationship with power in the rest of lives, beyond our play. After all, the polarity of leading/creating and surrendering/letting go are central to being a human being and learning to dive deeply into both, part of mastering the art of life. How powerful do we feel in every day life? What is our relationship to surrendering and do we associate it with strength or weakness? How do we manipulate in order to get power over others?
This workshop is a journey into the Self, an opportunity to question what it is you really desire, a chance to get your creative juices and intuition flowing, a chance to trust, to surrender, to serve, and above all, an opportunity to experience the many paradoxes that await: finding the sacred in the profane, humility in our dominance and great power in our surrendering.
Eros & Earth: A Solstice Ritual
For many, love is something we reserve for humans, and sex to humans and their genitals, without realising what a limitation this is, on our experience of the fullness and richness of life, not to mention the suffering that is created through a view based on experiencing ourselves as separate from the rest of life! As D.H Lawrence lamented “Oh, what a catastrophe, what a maiming of love when it was personal, merely personal feeling, taken away from the rising and the setting of the sun, and cut off from the magic connection of the solstice and the equinox.”
Aristotle believed that even an acorn is motivated to sprout into an oak tree because of the erotic attraction that its potential feels toward its actualization. When we expand our awareness and allow our senses to come alive with all our home, planet Earth has to offer us, life becomes a profoundly erotic experience. Everything around us, a constant dance, a pulsing and unfolding of Eros, the creative impulse of life.
When we allow ourselves to be penetrated by the warmth of the sun, aroused by the breeze tickling our skin, the smells, the sounds and tastes – Earth rouses our deeply sensual nature, reminding us that pleasure is our birthright. Every breath can become an erotic dance of giving and receiving with life as we discover our inherent wildness and inseparability from life.
‘Earth & Eros: A Solstice Ritual’ is an invitation to honour, express and celebrate your inherent wildness and sensual connection to life. A simple ritual and guided meditation using the physical landscape surrounded us, will draw us into wakefulness of our connection to earth and the nourishment, pleasure and wisdom it offers. This will be followed by a free space to find your friskiness and get your frolic on… and in honour of the Solstice, get fucked by the sun!
What is wild cannot be bought or sold, borrowed or copied.
It is.
Unmistakeable, unforgettable, unshamable,
elemental as earth and ice, water, fire and air,
a quitessence, pure spirit, resolving into no contituents.
Don’t waste your wildness: it is precious and necessary.
